Product Support Engineer | Ashburn VA

We’re looking for a motivated individual to join our growing Surveill product team.  You will be responsible for configuring & deploying our video management system Surveill throughout the sales process as well as ongoing maintenance.  This is a customer facing role that requires an extensive knowledge of Information Technology and the ability to adhere to strict customer deadlines.

Our product support team is a close group that shares in the workday, striving to help each other succeed. You'll never be far from the answers you need, as you be provided with training, coaching, and the assistance of mentors within the team.

Duties:    

  • Installation and configuration of enterprise system software to include site-specific features

  • Develop & maintain sales demonstration solutions for the team

  • Provide those demonstrations for potential customers, consultants and channel partners

  • Define product and functional requirements based on customer and partner requirements

  • Assist the sales process by providing technical knowledge and architecture assessments

  • Be a customer-facing resource providing feedback & issues back to the team

  • Deploy and manage Proofs of Concepts for enterprise customers

Skills you must have:

  • Degree in computers or information technology or equivalent experience.

  • Basic knowledge of security systems (VMS/CCTV/Access Control/Analytics)

  • Test and reproduce bugs in the software to aid the development team

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, independent, and comfortable working directly with customers

  • Technical or field support experience preferred

  • Effective organizational skills - ability to simultaneously manage multiple support incidents and to work independently but with support from the Development group.

  • Ability to work and solve problems independently.

  • Understanding of Windows desktop and server networking

  • Knowledge of networking principles and the IP protocol.

  • Experience with PC configuration and troubleshooting with the Windows operating system.

  • Excellent knowledge of VM Environments and Microsoft Clustering

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel and work away from the office when required.

  • Travel will be required estimated at 40-70%

  • Experience and knowledge of the physical security information management industry is helpful

Skills that are nice to have:

  • 1-2 years of experience with commercial Video Management Systems

  • Advanced knowledge in networking technology and architecture

  • Certifications for Microsoft, Security Engineering, Cyber Security, Networking or Project Management


Must have a valid passport and driver’s license

Salary Range: $85K - $120K (negotiable with experience)
